Factors that influence the cost
Size of the area
Most plastering is priced per square metre. Larger jobs often work out slightly cheaper per m² as setup costs are spread.
Wall condition
Walls with old artex, uneven surfaces, damp damage or multiple layers of old plaster take considerably longer to prepare.
Type of finish
Standard skim is the most cost-effective option. Lime, Venetian and polished plasters require specialist materials and more skilled application.
Access requirements
High ceilings, stairwells or external work at height may require scaffolding or towers. This will be factored into your estimate.
Materials specified
Silicone render and quality EWI systems use premium materials. See our materials page for a full breakdown.
